The reason I love music is for the emotions it can help me express. In my journey into all things Korean, I have found love songs that just stand out–they touch my heart, saying what I want to say more beautifully than I ever could. For Valentine’s Day, I’ve gathered some of the fangirls to share our favorite kpop love songs.
I am thankful I figured out a spot to put this into the post. And Maknae & Jen said it couldn’t be done. Bwhahahaha
We thought it would be fun to do a tiny post to express all the things we are thankful for this year at Dramas With A Side of Kimchi. So take a moment from basting those turkeys and dodging those relatives (possibly in a closet to check out your favorite dramas) and join us in giving thanks. Continue reading
Y’all, I finished Answer Me 1988 a day before we posted the poll and I had to wait THREE WHOLE DAYS for the poll to close before I knew what I was going to watch next. I maaaaaay have whined to Unni Amber about it and she may have suggested I Remember You as a great way to fill that time. Seo In Guk? Park Bo Gum? Mystery? I was in. And then I was completely hooked.
With Joo Won and Lee Min Ho joining the military this past week, I think it is the perfect time to take a moment and analyze the mandatory military service system and how it effects Kdrama Addicts. Join the Fangirls as they discuss their favorite actors forced into MS and who they are looking forward to coming out in the latest edition of The Fangirl’s Roundtable. Continue reading
We all knew this day was coming. As of March 28th 2017, Seo In Guk officially entered the mandatory South Korean military for two very long years. I imagine I am not the only Heartrider, sitting at my computer devastated at the thought that my bias will not be in new dramas, music videos, or any other form of media entertainment for 24 months. So I thought it would be useful to write out in words how I am going to survive this horrible time in my life.
It has come to my attention from several of our readers that I have been remiss in doing a Fangirl Stalking post for my ultimate bias of all time Seo In Guk. It isn’t because I don’t love him (as we all know that I do) but just the thought that I write about him so much that I might annoy people with my fangirl exuberance. But obviously that is not the case since we have had requests so without further ado……here are my thoughts on Seo In Guk’s filmography! Continue reading
I am slightly devastated that Shopping King Louie is over. It has been a bright, comedic light in an otherwise very melo drama season. How am I supposed to go on without my weekly dose of Louie and Bok Sil? I guess I will have to satisfy myself with falling down the Louie youtube black hole (seriously, there are some great things out there…. check out the below Louie English FMV.) But for now, let us do one more recap and find out how our story ends. Continue reading
The title of this episode “My Way” refers to one of the legendary Frank Sinatra’s most famous songs. (Not my favorite, and not his either from what I’ve heard.) But the first line of the song is so fitting for the show. “And now the end is near. And so I face the final curtain.” It’s almost midnight everyone. Our Shopping Cinderella is about to head home. Louie’s way was sweet while it lasted. Continue reading
We had an hour of filler this week. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of that in the last three episodes, now that the plot is wrapping up. But when characters (and I do mean all the characters) are so likable, it is hard to really be mad about it. So come join me as I discuss incompetent bad guys, cute male rivalries, and enough happy feels to gag a unicorn. Continue reading
