I was trying to decide on my next stalkee but was overwhelmed with my options, so I sent a shout-out on my FB account for ideas. Imagine my surprise when I got a ton of requests for the always sexy, but underrated actor, Sung Hoon. Since my readers have spoken, I provide! Not at all a hardship since I get to go through so many pretty pictures to go with the post. YAY for pretty!
The Rules of Fangirl Stalking:
We will start with the dramas I think are must watch works by the actor. Followed by the shows that could go either way. This means that they are worth watching in my opinion, but I know there are some people who don’t like the genre. Lastly, we will cover the dramas/movies that you really could skip and not miss much (at least in regards of the actor featured). These are the shows that are for die-hard fans who want to watch everything. So let’s jump into obsessing about the always sexy Sung Joon.
Watch ASAP
Five Enough
I will admit I am not watching this one yet. However, I have heard so much good buzz that I don’t mind throwing this one into the “must watch” list. The current airing drama is bringing in the ratings and I am sure some of that is due to Sung Hoon’s performance.
Noble My Love
This is officially one of my favorite web series to date. Hot jerky chaebol falls for a sweet tempered veterinarian isn’t a new trope, but is one of my favorites none the less. This drama is well worth the two hours of viewing and shows that Sung Hoon can easily pull off romantic leading man.
Faith
Those of you who know me, know I have a huge thing for the white haired bad guys in Chinese Wuxia dramas. So it is no surprise that evil Sung Hoon in the fantasy Sageuk Faith totally does it for me. Of course, the always gorgeous Lee Min Ho starring as the lead didn’t hurt either.
Depending On the Mood
New Tales of the Gisaeng
This is one of those dramas that you really have to click with. On the slow side and with a large episode count, New Tales of the Gisaeng is hit or miss with viewers. You might want to give it a try because if nothing else there is a lot of Sung Hoon’s chiseled good looks to get you through the many hours of watching.
Oh My Venus
I loved Sung Hoon in this drama. His straight man character was the perfect foil for the perkier Henry. The only reason it is not a “must watch” is the fact that the drama as a whole was a bit too fluffy for my tastes. I need a little more than cute OTP moments to hold my interest. Who knew that plot trumps hot?
For the Die Hard Fans
Passionate Love
I am not a fan of a guy falling in love with the sibling of a dead 1st love trope to begin with. Let alone when it is accompanied by the boring world of dairy farming. This show leaned towards boring and the acting was stiff. This is a case where all the pretty couldn’t overcome the boring plot.
That concludes yet another Fangirl Stalking! If you have an actor or actress you would like me to add to my growing list of subjects, be sure to comment below.
Til next time,
Kmuse
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
I am one of those watching Five Children and I did it just for him. I will keep watching even though it has the weekender trope I HATE the most – the mother that disapproves of the wife choice made by her GROWN son and thinks she has a right JUST because she gave birth to him to say no. Makes me scream at the screen. But the SH stuff is really cute and worth the watch with the FF button on high alert.
I admit one of my guilty pleasures is those makjang weekend dramas – watched Passionate Love, and am watching 5 Children 😀 He’s a major draw there!
I could NOT finish Noble My Love – despite him! The writing, the heroine, the stupidity of the set-up – what I need to do is just watch the 10 remaining episodes in one sitting – cause the pretty LOL
I certainly liked Oh My Venus MUCH MUCH more – I mean, So Ji Sub for one thing, Sung Hoon & Henry for two more, plus Shin Min Ah is one of my fav actresses.
FAITH – oh, he totally swam right onto my radar in that – despite the total hunky gloriousness of Lee Min Ho. Just WOW.
