This is one amazing beautiful OTP (one true pairing) from upcoming drama Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. It is difficult to even say which of them is prettier. But in a gender bender romance, that is probably a good thing so I am not rolling my eyes every second over her supposed manly prowess.
SYNOPSIS: Hong Ra On disguises herself as a man and counsels men on dating. Due to a love letter she wrote for a client, she meets Crown Prince Hyo Myeong. Ra On is unaware that he is the Crown Prince and Hyo Myeong is unaware that Ra On is a woman. The Crown Prince becomes interested in Ra On. His eunuchs become aware of this and attempt to get Ra On to become one of them.
I found it interesting that the promotional department switched gears with their 2nd teaser. Rather than the in your face quirky that we received with the first look, this teaser is distinctly romantic with a slight angsty air. I almost felt I was one scene away from a sad ending. Something I don’t mind as long as the story is well written, but usually not what is shown from the get go. Regardless of whether the show will be a comedy or a melo sageuk, it is going to be beautifully acted and filmed. I can already feel some crazy chemistry from Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung‘s characters.
Moonlight Drawn By Clouds will begin airing on Aug 15th.
TEASER:
Haha. Is he going to cut off his… uh her parts with that ax? I think that’s what is going on at the end. I think there will be a very bittersweet part of the drama where the prince thinks he’s in love with a boy so there will be lots of longing looks from him. Hopefully they handle the transition well. It can always be tricky.
I love park bo gum and his longing looks. Actually anticipating that part.
I watched another drama (chinese, I think it was) where a grown man voluntarily became a eunuch so I looked it up and it was not the snip-snip of a modern vasectomy. Generally, they were full on penile removals – there are some photos of turn-of-the-century eunuchs on Wikipedia that are really icky. Basically, you were lucky to survive. I’m hoping that’s not what those eunuchs have in mind for Park Bo Gum’s newest buddy . . .
I cannot wait for this one! Park Bo Gum does angsty and repressed so well, but I ADORE his smirks. I hope we get plenty of both!! I am just happy he is in a role that allows me to really focus on him. I loved him in I Remember You and Reply 1988, but he had to share my love with his co-stars. This drama is HIS turn to be the lead from the beginning. I can’t wait!
