A Plethora of Upcoming Drama Stills, Posters, & Teasers

FotorCreated.jpg

So many stills, posters, and teasers came out over the last few days that we just can’t seem to find enough time to write about each individual show.  A fangirl has to occasionally sleep after all.  So in true kaddict fashion, we are just going to jump right in and share it all in one binge-worthy post.

Voice

Character Teasers

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: I am so excited to watch this drama. I really, really hope that the story is as intriguing as the teasers.

Drama Geek: I’m not a huge fan of either of the leads but the preview has my interest peaked. It will probably all depend on how many dramas I have going when this comes out.

Haidi: Bring it on. I’m already hooked and it’s not even out yet.

Tomorrow With You

*Synopsis:

The story is about Yoo So Joon, a time-traveler who owns a real estate company worth 200 billion won. When he sees his future self living unhappily, he decides to avoid that fate by marrying Song Ma Rin without love. While their start is a fake marriage, he sees that his wife gets hurt because of him, and it starts to distress him. The story is about him slowly falling in love with her, despite marrying her for selfish and loveless reasons.

1st Teaser

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: A time traveling angsty Lee Je Hoon sounds right up my drama ally. To be perfectly honest, I only enjoy around half of Shin Min Ah’s dramas, but I don’t think that would keep me from checking this show out.  Crossing my fingers for greatness.

Drama Geek: You had me at Shin Min Ah and then doubled the goodness with Lee Je Hoon. I love time travel when it’s done right and the story sounds like it’ll be full of sad and contemplating moments. Is it February yet?

Haidi: I’ll be watching this one. I’m a sucker for the time travel trope and maybe it’s just the holiday season but I’m getting a little Christmas Carol vibe. This time Scrooge is going to get all smoochy with the girl though, I just know it.

Missing Nine

*Synopsis:

The drama will be set in a deserted island and cover all the things that happen when a plane crash lands there, inside carrying a fallen boy band member dealing with a plagiarism scandal, a girl group, an actor, a bodyguard, an entertainment reporter, and a flight attendant.
They will have to deal with how they survive in the wild, and through the adventure and adversity they learn the meaning of love.

Stills

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: The show switched the title, cast, & writer so often that I am terrified it is going to be a hot mess.  That said, Jung Kyung Ho is the lead so I will be watching no matter how horrible it might be.  It is amazing what JKH’s charisma can make me commit to viewing.

Drama Geek: I like when dramaland goes outside of its usual box and I think this one has that potential. I will be checking this one out just to see if they can show me something different.

Haidi: Lost meets Lord of the Flies meets k- culture. Weird but I’ll give it a try.

Woman of Dignity

**Synopsis:

Woo A-Jin lives a luxurious life due to her wealthy father-in-law, but her father-in-law’s finances become decimated and her husband betrays her. Woo A-Jin’s life hits rock bottom.

Stills

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: Huh, I just realized that it has been forever since I have seen Pillar (Lee Ki Woo) in a drama.  I will check this one out but with hesitation.  Sometimes the betrayed wife becoming a tough woman drama trope doesn’t hit the right note…

Drama Geek: This is probably a wait and see for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Pillar, but I only have so much drama watching time.

Haidi: I’m going to wait for KMUSE to watch this one. It feels a little tired to me already but if she comes back and says it has some fresh angle, I’ll give it try.

Man to Man

*Synopsis: A drama about a special bodyguard with a background in special investigations and the Hallyu star he is supposed to protect.

Elle Magazine Photo Shoot November 2016 -Man to Man Cast ( Jung Man Sik, Park Hae Jin, Park Sung Woong)

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: I like the casting for this show but still need to see at least a teaser before I start fangirling.

Drama Girl: Kmuse, how are you not fangirling over those Elle pictures? I know, I know, it’s not actually the drama but these make my mouth water for what could be.

Haidi: Interesting storyline, beautiful people, excellent photos… I’m going to put a pin in this one.

Hwarang

*Synopsis:

During the Kingdom of Silla, a group of elite youth known as Hwarang (literally “Flowering Knights”) would wield great influence. These dashing, talented knights – Moo Myung, Sam Maek Jong, Soo Ho, Ban Ryu, Yeo Wool, Han Sung, and maiden Ah Ro – could outsmart and outfight anyone as they pushed for justice in Seorabeol, the capital city. One of them would become King Jin Heung of Silla and change the course of history.

Trailer

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: I am still feeling really wary of this drama for some reason.  Hoping for the best but preparing myself for disappointment.

Drama Geek: The still and previews have been all over the place with this drama. It’s done by the same team that did the Flower Boy series so ridiculous antics are expected. I’m just not sure this drama is going to gel. But… I am a huge V fan and I like the rest of the cast so it’s safe to say I will end up watching the series.

Haidi: Omo and yup! Yup, yup, yup, yup! This show just made me inner 13 year old crush hard. I’ll be watching this religiously.

Rebel Hong Gil Dong

*Synopsis:

Drama series depicts the life of Hong Gil-Dong who is the the first revolutionist and dissident activist in Joseon.

Script Reading Photos

1a40

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: SQUEEEE!  Yoon Gyun Sang as a leading man?  A 100 times yes!  And the writer also wrote King’s Daughter Soo Baek Hyang which is one of my all time favorite Sagueks which means this drama has a possibility to be epically good.

Drama Geek: I agree with Kmuse. I’m so excited to see Yoon Gyun Sang as a leading man. And I love a good hero story.

Haidi: This one has some great potential. I’ll be watching for more on this one.

Introverted Boss

*Synopsis:

Eun Hwan-Ki is the CEO of a public relations company, but he is extremely shy. Due to his personality, even his employees do not know him well. Chae Ro-Woon begins work at his company. She is very energetic and receives recognition for her work, but her only interest is in revealing who Eun Hwan-Ki really is.

Teasers

Our Thoughts:

KMUSE: This sounds like so much fun.  Also the writer penned one of my favorite dramas Marriage Not Dating and the leading man & PD are also from the aforementioned show.  Let’s hope that lightning strikes twice and this drama is equally as entertaining.

Drama Geek: It’s funny because the girl playing the fun spunky one just played an introvert in Age of Youth. She’s pretty new but I loved her and she looks adorable in the teaser. And I love the team behind this one too so I’ll be checking it out for sure.

Haidi: I love the idea of this story. I hope that we see some fantastic writing that will make the show fun and make the characters come to life.

We hope this gives you a brief glimpse on what is starting in the next month.  Which shows are you going to check out?  Let us know in the comments.

Til next time,

The Fangirls

  1. Woooow, so much to love coming up this New Year! I’ve been on and off the bumpy drama train for a long time with so much going on in RL, but now I’m finally settling down. Right now I’m only watching Oh my Geum Bi and i have to get back to Legend of Blue Sea. Before that i caught up on a bunch of older dramas and I loved them.

You all had me with Jang Hyuk’s new drama (Just the way I like to see him – brooding but snarky , cocky and back in action!

And Tomorrow with you, it’s Time travel, I’m also a sucker for that so I’m in, I like Shin Min Ah. I hope it’s NOT like Mirae’s Choice! Ughhh. Lee Je Hoon? Why not put him in another Time Travel drama. He was marvelous in Signal.

And then Missing Nine! Gilligan’s Island meets LOST meets K-pop?? Not sure about LOST, but I’m in love all ready. And I also developed a huge deeper crush for JHK.

Hong Gil Dong story, I’m game. I’d like to see the original with Kang Ji Hwan, but I’m so tired of him being paired with that actress Sung Yoo Ri. (She was his boring as heck leading lady in Monster! And was his lead in Runway Cop. Jeesh!! Are they secretly married? Always being paired and I don’t see the chemistry ever! Arhhhh!

I’ve always wanted to rant about that.

Introverted Boss sounds fun. I’ll give that a try. But i hope he’s not forced to become an extrovert. Us introverts have to stick together, we have just as much to offer. LOL. If anyone here’s an Introvert I highly recommend this book: “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking”

It would be awesome if they had a shot of him reading that while she’s standing over his desk yapping away. LOL. If you do see that scene, remember, you read it here first. lol.

Anyway, thanks for this list! I’m bookmarking it for future reference because I will forget.

  2. Excessive repression? He refuses to express his emotions? JK but it struck me that the trope of being unable to express emotions seems to be in this year.
