Kmuse’s Musings: These are a few of my favorite things…

1a4.jpg

It’s the holidays.  Which means it is time to reflect on the blessings life has given us, spend time with family, and for the random kaddict out there it means binge watching a drama.  So as I sit next to the tree blogging away before having to play Santa for the kids, I thought it would be fun to just do a random post (emphasis on the random) on some of my favorite things.

Casting Rumors

There is no better feeling than when some of your favorite actors are rumored to be accepting new drama roles.  Except maybe when those rumors become confirmed and we can start counting down the days to their new drama airing.  I am especially excited for the following actors to come back to the small screen.

Hyun Bin – City of Stars

1a6

I will openly admit that I was OK on having a Hyun Bin hiatus the last couple years.  Jekyll, Hyde, and I scarred me in ways I can’t even begin to express.  But I think I am finally willing to let the past behind me and give Hyun Bin another chance. My only concern is that an astronaut sci-fi theme seems a bit ambitious and uncharted for Korean audiences and could possibly go very wrong.  But maybe I am just being overly worried.  Hyun Bin can’t have two bombs in a row….right?

Jo Seung Woo – Secret Forest

1a5

Jo Seung Woo (God’s Gift: 14 days) is eyeing a drama comeback in TvN’s The Forest. There is not a lot of detail other than it will be a drama about corruption in the prosecutor offices.  Not my favorite drama trope but for Jo Seung Woo I will give it a try regardless of the genre.

Yoon Hyun Min & Choi Jin Hyuk – Tunnel

This casting has already been confirmed and I could not be more thrilled.  What could be better than two khotties involved in a story of time travel and serial killers.  I totally approve of both the story and the possible bromance between these two solid actors.

International TV

I am a huge fan of good entertainment, which means I like to roam beyond the television borders of the US and even Korea.  So here are just random things that are making me happy when it comes to TV (all countries included).

Sotus: The Series (Thailand)

1a10a

I started watching Sotus because my FB friend Xi was also watching and it became a joint viewing/discussion situation.  After a while, our friend Molly also joined us and we have been loving this drama for several months now.  If you are looking for something different and do not mind a BL romance then I highly suggest giving this one a try.  While I don’t always connect with the hazing being a good thing concept, the relationship between the two guys is worth getting through the odd story backdrop.

Teen Wolf (United States)

.;a1a2.png

A few of my friends will remember around five months ago when I gave up sleep to binge watch this cheesy werewolf themed TV show.  Sure the actors (except for Stiles) are not that great.  Yes, the story line is cheesy to the nth degree.  Despite all its flaws I couldn’t stop watching and literally spent three weeks of my life glued to my couch.  Now you might be wondering why I am mentioning Teen Wolf when I have been out of its clutches for months now?  Simply for the fact that Drama Geek started watching this week and can’t seem to stop pushing the next episode button.  Hahaha.  I have been vindicated.  I am not the only one that can get sucked into a mediocre sci-fi TV show.  Also, it is fun reliving the initial feels from her comments as she views it for the first time. So for those of you out there that want a good binge show and love some beefcake bad acting then check out Teen Wolf.  I will warn you that the first season was not as good as following seasons.  Therefore if you get bored I would suggest watching the first few episodes of seasons one, the last few episodes of the first season and then jumping straight into season 2.  You won’t miss much and the quality of plot improves greatly with the second season.

Dr Who Christmas Specials (Britain)

My very first time I watched an episode of Dr. Who it was a Christmas special starring David Tennant.  To this day I continue to look forward to my yearly Christmas dose of Dr. Who and have yet to be disappointed.  If you want to start a trippy and intense ride into the life of an immortal who travels through time and regenerates into new bodies and has adventures saving the earth check out this long running Brittish series.  in my opinion, it is a must watch for every true geek.

MUSIC

MAMAMOO –  Décalcomanie MV

I love Mamamoo to bits.  Their strong vocals and powerful feminist vibe just makes me happy. They have been on my “must watch” list for a while and have reached the pinacle with their new MV Décalcomanie.  This song/MV has officially earned its way into my top 5 all time favorite Kpop MVs so check it out and love it with me.

The time grows late and my kids are asleep.  Which means I have to stop doing the blogging thing and do my mommy getting the presents under the tree thing.  So goodnight for now and I wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas.

Be sure to let me know what some of your favorite things currently are in the comments and I look forward to chatting with you in the upcoming new year.

Til next time,

Kmuse
