So, I just read the synopsis for the first time while putting this post together and I have to admit I am suddenly very interested in seeing this drama play out. I am doubly excited since this is the first thing in a good 4 months that I might actually watch from TvN. Sadly, I am having a slump since I have dropped all their programming and am probably going to not even bother with Liar and His Lover (stupid show ruining the vibe of an awesome movie.) So it looks like Chicago Typewriter will be my TvN comeback drama. Now let’s just hope that it is as good as it looks.
Synopsis: Writers that lived under Japanese rule in the 1930’s are reincarnated into a bestselling writer who is in a slump, a mysterious ghostwriter and an anti-fan of the bestselling writer.
While the topic is definitely ambitious, I have faith in this writer to create something amazing. Jin Soo-Wan wrote both Kill Me Heal Me and Moon Embracing the Sun. Both dramas that took complicated and sometimes magical subject matter and made it believable. Let’s hope that my faith in the writer and in Yoo Ah In’s ability to play intricate characters is not misplaced. Chicago Typewriter is set to air on April 7th.
