Autumn is a time for relaxing and catching up on a good mystery. Something about this time of year is just perfect for sitting back and being a couch detective. My fellow fangirls know I am obsessed with Agatha Christie. I even own a The Body in the Library tee shirt. So when a Korean version of an Agatha Christie mystery popped up on the list, of course, I got very excited. After all, it’s combining two of my favorite things kdramas, and Agatha Christie stories.
Synopsis: When she is falsely accused of killing her daughter, Ms. Ma decides to take matters into her own hands. She escapes from prison and begins looking for clues to reveal the truth about her daughter’s death. While searching for justice for her daughter, she solves mysterious cases around her.
Based on Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple, our Ms. Ma still knits, but she’s not a doting grandmotherly type. Kim Yun Jin’s Ms. Ma is Nemesis, the Goddess of Revenge. I’m curious to see how they adapt this from the original Nemesis story. The more I think about it, the more interested I am. In the original story, Miss Marple was a facilitator in the search for a missing woman, Verity. I like the twist with Ms. Ma trying to avenge her daughter. I really like Kim Yun Jin’s acting so I’m really hoping that the writing is strong. They have a good storyline to follow, so I’m sure this will become one of my new favorites.
Since this story requires an ensemble cast, we have several of our favorite supporting actors such as Jung Woong In, Song Young Kyu, Hwang Suk Jung, and Moon Hee Kyung. It also stars CNU from the kpop group B1A4. I need a good supporting cast so I was really happy to see all of these actors on the list.
What do you think? Will you be watching Ms. Ma: Nemesis when it airs on October 6th? I know I’m excited about this Korean adaptation. I’ll be curled up with a cup of hot tea and some cookies, ready to be a little spooked. I love a good mystery, don’t you?
Ready for a mysterious October,

Dramas With a Side of Kimchi
I love Agatha Christie so I will have to check this drama out. From the teaser, however, it looks like a pretty loose adaptation.
I’m ok with it being a loose adaptation. Especially with this story. I’m curious how they will weave it all together.
