Top 5 Kpop MVs of the Week: Halloween Edition

It’s almost Halloween!  And while this holiday is not really celebrated in Korea the way it here is in the US, I thought it would be the perfect time to bring out those music videos that cover the more spooky/odd aspects of life.  So come join me and celebrate the holiday Kpop style.

#1 SHINee: Married to the Music

I know that The Maknae used this in last week’s countdown but you can’t have a creepy MV list and not add Shinee’s Married to the Music!  It is the perfect MV for this time of year.

#2 T-ara: Lovey Dovey

Not only do we get a great bebopping beat but we get a quirky zombie twist at the end!  T-ara’s Lovey Dovey is one of the first girl group songs that made it onto my playlist back when I started listening to Kpop.  Come enjoy the fun styles, zombies, and dancing in this classic MV.

#3 TVXQ – Mirotic

The last big release with all 5 members, Mirotic remains one of the best Kpop songs of all time.  Add the sexy, stylized, bonding of the various members and it totally makes my list of great Halloween MVs.  OK, so it isn’t as on point as some of the others but who doesn’t want an excuse to stare at these boys and their barely there leather shirts.

#4 VIXX: Hyde & Voodoo Doll

There is no way I could pick just one VIXX creepy MV.  Especially when they are the kings of the heavy black eyeliner and macabre visuals. Although, Voodoo Doll does have an original and a clean version of the MV because sensors felt the boys went just a bit too far.  But you be the judge.  Let me know which one you think is creepier in the comments.

#5 Block B: Jackpot

Being kidnapped by crazy Kpop idols?  Not sure if this is a nightmare or most fangirls dreams?  If nothing else, those clown masks at the beginning were downright creepy.

There you have it. My top 5 perfect MVs to celebrate this spooky season.  Did yours make the list?  If not be sure to share it in the comments because we can’t get enough of the macabre this time of year.

Nothing says Halloween like BTS’s costume dance performances.  My favorite is last year’s rendition of snow white and the dwarfs.  So sit back, push play, and enjoy.

Til the next song,

  1. I tried listening to but only half of video screen shows up here. If you often post about k-pop songs, I would suggest you to also make a playlist of songs mentioned in post at the end so we can just open it on YouTube app and maybe save to offline and listen to it later too. Thanks for suggestions though.

  2. I would add Dreamcatcher’s Good Night, Chase Me, and You and I MVs. Yes, three. They are all kind of linked together storywise…which involves ghosthunting, a creepy house, candles in a circle, man with an ax, and possible portals to other dimensions. They have a very rock anime soundtrack sound and are quite fun in my opinion.

    • Me too! I started the MV and was like “What IS this?” A friend pointed me in the direction of the clean MV, thankfully.
