Top 5 Kpop Songs: Lee Hong Gi

I don’t really keep a bias list or anything like that, but I’ve noticed lately that if I don’t know what to listen to, I turn to either FTIsland or Lee Hong Gi’s solo work. I guess that means I *do* have a bias…? I do love listening to Hong Gi’s powerful, slightly raspy voice a whole lot. Anyway, here are the top 5 Lee Hong Gi songs on my playlist!

FTISLAND – “Pathfinders”

I love the message of this song, that you can be yourself and find your own way, even if everyone else is telling you otherwise (says the 40-year-old kpop fan….).

FTISLAND — “Future” (with Hwe Seung from N. Flying)

The vibe of this song, plus the playfulness at the beginning, just speaks to me. I love it.

FTISLAND — “Summer Night’s Dream”

I love the acoustic version of this — the boys are so versatile, plugged in or not!

Lee Hong Gi — “I Am”

I have a ridiculous love for this song. I know it’s not everyone’s style, but it totally grew on me and is now one of my favorites. If I’m being frank, I love his entire 2nd solo album–I could fill the list with just those songs!

Lee Hong Gi — “Raise Me Up”

This song from Switch is just beautiful. It highlights Hong Gi’s distinctive voice so very well.

There were a LOT of songs I had to leave off this list, drama fans. Tell me, what Lee Hong Gi songs are your favorites?

Until the next MV, I remain–

Karie the Maknae

Dramas with a Side of Kimchi

  1. I miss him. He was in A Korean odyssey but didn’t like him that one. My most fav drama starring him is Bride if the century. He sang a very nice ost in that- words I couldn’t say. Never heard any of his other kpop songs but surely give these songs a try.

    • I’m glad you’ll give them a try! I think they’re great. And I definitely intend to watch Bride of the Century someday.
