New Faces in Upcoming Chinese Drama My Amazing Boyfriend 2: Unforgettable Impression

Almost three years ago audiences were enchanted with the story of a cute and bubbly actress and her immortal boyfriend hijinks. That drama was My Amazing Boyfriend (Find the Review HERE) and I loved it. So imagine my delight when the long awaited sequel was finally announced to be airing. There is only one problem……….

Our cute OTP (one true pairing) is being played by different actors.

Originally this news really upset me. Not that I was overly invested in
Kim Tae Hwan’s performance. But his chemistry with Wu Qian was super cute. But due to scheduling conflicts and China’s decision to not work with Korean actors (back before they settled the conflicts) made it impossible for these two to make the sequel. Hence the recasting of Mike D’Angelo and Ester Yu

A change that might actually work for the better? Not only do they seem to keep that fun quirky vibe of the original OTP but Mike D’Angelo is a much better actor than the Korean model turned thespian from the first season.

What do you think? Are you going to give this immortal hottie and his quirky actress a chance to win you over? And more importantly, should I start working on my co-bloggers now about making this our next chatty recap project? Let us know in the comments and be sure to check out My Amazing Boyfriend 2: Unforgettable Impression this Thursday when it premieres on Viki.

  1. I loved the premise of the first one but ended up dropping it because of a few things but mostly the guy’s acting. I have to agree that this one seems to have the good chemistry of the first one with better acting. It’s making reconsider finishing the first one so I can enjoy this second one….
