The Fangirl’s Movie Review: Finally Found Someone

It is Valentine’s Day and The Fangirls were searching for a little bit of romance to celebrate this day of love. Come check out if they found it as they review the romantic comedy, Finally Found Someone.

TRAILER:

SYNOPSIS:

Aprilyn who is left by his groom on the day of their wedding becomes viral online. Devastated, she meets Raffy who works at a PR agency hired by the father of the groom who will help her move on.

THE PLOT

Kmuse: This is not something that you have not seen before in rom-coms but the actors are so adorable that you can’t help but fall in love. I became very invested in their stories and really wanted them to have their happy ever after.

Clkytta: How do you take a typical plot and turn it into something special? You cast the right actors! Kmuse and I fell in love with the story and the characters because the actors were amazing! The bride left at the alter trope is one we’ve seen hundreds of times. So while the story isn’t new, this interpretation felt fresh and fun.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

Kmuse: This director did an amazing job in setting up our OTP to look really amazing together. Time and time again I swooned over their cuteness and chemistry.

Clkytta: The settings were well done, but we loved how they were dressed! All night last night Kmuse and I fawned over Aprilyn’s dresses and gushed over the fantastic pops of color they put on Raffy.

CHARACTER OBSERVATIONS

Kmuse: This movie doesn’t really develop the other characters beyond a single layer. They are used as plot devices to give our OTP more backstory. Beyond that they are mostly forgettable. Thankfully our OTP fills up the time with their lovely interaction so I don’t notice the lack.

Clkytta: I agree, the main characters carry the show. The side characters are fun, but we don’t really fall for them.

OVERALL REACTION

Kmuse: This movie was delightful. Was it pretty predictable and a standard rom-com? Yes, but every time our leads smiled my heart fluttered which is really the reason to watch romantic movies. I would highly recommend this movie for anyone who needs a dose of romance in their lives.

Clkytta: I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was fun and fluffy with just the right amount of angst. Filipino romances remind me a lot of the movies from 90’s, They are full of charming and witty characters who drive the story and make you fall in love with them. I’m so excited that Netflix seems to have added several to their site.

Til our next movie adventure,
