3 Dramas To Binge Over the Holiday Season

Are you looking for something good to binge over the holidays? I know that I am finding myself with a ton of extra time since all of the festive holiday events that usually fill my days have been canceled. So, if you are like me and need something to binge, these three dramas are my recommendations to you.

Love and Redemption

Synopsis – The leader of the Shao Yang clan hosts a magic and martial arts tournament for young apprentices. His daughter Chu Xuan Ji, who has been deprived of the use of her senses, has been entered in the competition – even though her skills are far from advanced. Also taking part in the competition is the Lize Palace’s star student Yu Si Feng. Students are forbidden from embarking on romantic relationships with one another. But when the two meet, they first become firm friends…and then start to develop much deeper feelings for one another. (MyDramaList)

One of the best romances of 2020; I started this drama on a whim and quickly became obsessed. Just warning that the first episode didn’t really hook me in, but once I got to our OTP’s relationship, I just couldn’t stop watching. Love and Redemption has one of the best OTPs that I have watched, and I think if you give it a try, you won’t be able to stop.

Train

Synopsis: I am not going to use the MDL synopsis since it has spoilers in it. So, instead, I am just going to say that this is a brilliantly written crime drama that involves jumping through parallel worlds and a serial killer.

I loved this drama. While there are times you might not understand what is happening, all the twists and turns result in one of the more solid crime dramas of the past several years. Also, Yoon Shi Yoon! Who can say no to his sexy version of angsty cop?

Tail of the Nine Tailed

Synopsis – The mythical nine-tailed fox, or gumiho, Lee Yeon had to settle in the city many centuries ago. Able to transform into human form, he eradicates supernatural beings that threaten the mortal world. His real aim is to find the reincarnation of his lost first love. (MyDramaList)

It is the perfect time to start if you like to binge dramas with only a week to go till it is completed. This show was a bit of a slow burn for me, as I stopped around episode 6. However, I came back and binged 7 episodes in a day, and I can say that I was completely engaged. The story is very strong, and the characters get some truly well-developed layers as they go through multiple lives fighting a great evil.

What do you plan to binge over the next several weeks? Be sure to let me know in the comments and subscribe to get more great drama recommendations in the future.

Til the next episode,

  1. The Tail of the Nine Tail really had me hooked right from the start, but like you, I stopped after episode 6, waiting for new ones. Like you, I’m struggling with episodes 7 and 8 but I’m now re-energize by comments and will take your advice to binge the rest. I’m going to take Love and Redemption under advisement, based solely on that top movie still (the way he holds her face “makes my hurt flutter,” as they say.
