Kmuse’s Musings: Doom is Your Service

It is no surprise to our long-time readers that I am beyond excited at the return of my #1 bias. But with the latest teaser, that excitement has been raised to new heights. So join me as I discuss the multiple reasons why I think this drama will be just what I need to kick off the spring drama season.

First lets start with the synopsis:

My drama list says the following: Tak Dong Kyung has been working hard ever since her parents passed away. Her life seemed more stable after working as a web novel editor for 6 years, but then she gets diagnosed with brain cancer. She blames her unlucky life and wishes to curse everything to disappear, which unintentionally calls Myeol Mang, a messenger between humans and gods, to appear. He says that he can grant her wishes. As her last hope, she makes a contract with Myeol Mang for a hundred days to live how she wants, risking her everything.

From this, we can glean several things. First, Seo In Guk is going to be playing a fantasy hottie with mystical powers. Know what is better than regular Seo In Guk? Magical powers Seo In Guk. Just look at his cameo in Abyss (the only thirty seconds worth watching) as well as his character in the mini web series Another Parting (Clkytta: Another Parting is one of my favorites!) I am 100% behind this type of character.

Seo In Guk isn’t the only reason I’m excited. Park Bo Young is easily on my top list of actresses that I follow. Her ability to do both more serious and comedic roles makes her the perfect foil for SIG’s talents. I also think she will totally be able to pull off the dark humor we are sure to have. What, with her suffering from terminal brain cancer. To be honest I have high hopes for something a bit more upbeat than all gloom and doom. But even if there isn’t a happy ending in this OTP’s future, I know that the journey will be beautifully done and worth the watch with these two talented actors at the show’s helm.

And the final reason that this latest teaser has me extremely excited is the extreme chemistry between our leads. I squealed because of the OTP twice already just from watching the forty-second teaser. If just a teaser has me this invested, I imagine that I will be super shipping this OTP (crossing fingers.)

Doom At Your Service is all set to premiere in two weeks, and we here at DWASOK will be fangirling from start to finish. Clkytta and I will be recapping this drama for the blog, and we are for sure going to be chatting about it at some point for the podcast. But if you still want even more SIG quality fangirling, come join us on Patreon. We recently added a Discord server as one of the perks, and we are chatting daily as we hate for our SIG fix.

Til our next bias filled moment,

Kmuse

  1. I’m looking forward to this so much and I’ve got such high expectations that I’m terrified the drama won’t life up to them….
