First Impressions and Unfiltered Thoughts: Cafe Minamdang

Con man or hero? A mysterious cafe houses a handsome shaman who solves life’s problems for a price. Does he really have psychic powers, or is there more than meets the eye? What is happening at Cafe Minamdang?

The Story So Far

Nam Han Joon is the mysterious handsome shaman who lives above Cafe Minamdang, a trendy cafe where the barista is handsome and strong and the server is the perfect flower boy. People line up, hoping for a glimpse of the handsome men. Upstairs though, there is more than meets the eye. Our shaman is actually a disgraced criminal profiler, and he uses those skills to solve the problems that are presented to him. Behind every story, though, is the one story he needs to solve, the crime that caused him to lose his job and go to jail.

A complication occurs when a new detective comes on the scene. Han Jae Hee is determined to expose Nam Han Joon as a fraud. Little do either of them know, however, that they both seek the answers to the horrific crime that cost Nam Han Joon his job and Han Jae Hee her brother.

Seo In Guk is a Chameleon!

Now, we all know that The Fangirls as a whole adore Seo In Gook. The number one reason I was interested in this story was that he was starring in it. He is one of those actors that can turn on a dime and go from serious to funny to sexy, which makes the character Nam Han Joon tailor-made for him. A huge thumbs up for his wardrobe–I am loving all the color!

Oh Jeon So – The Serious Detective

Oh Jeon So is our serious detective, Han Jae Hee, out to punish her brother’s murderer. Her determination and the pain of losing her brother break my heart. There is a connection between our leads that goes back to Han Jae Hee’s childhood, and it gives us a lot of insight into what drives her. I love her as the detective seeking the truth, but her stylist needs to be fired. She doesn’t look younger than our male lead, she looks older. It feels like the stylist thought, “Hmmm, let’s put her all in black and give her super basic hair and makeup and make her look like an old frump.”

Murder and Serial Killers Are Why I’ll Keep Watching

I love a good storyline, and so far, this is a great storyline. Our leads are connected and searching for the same answers, even if they don’t know it yet. We’ve had a possible serial killer introduced, and I am totally here for it. I love a good serial killer storyline and I can’t wait to see what kind of shenanigans these two get into. The supporting cast is tight, and I’m loving his little “family.” I already have suspicions and conspiracy theories brewing, so I have to know if I’m right!

Until the next clue,

Im buying anything that SIG sells me but i have problems with connecting with the FL, the writers made her so frustrating to watch?! Im on ep 6 and it hasnt gotten better yet, so the show is the most entertaining for me when it shows the cafe minamdang gang.
