We have aliens and trot rock and rookies and singing rappers this week, y’all, and I’m in love with every minute of it! Come check out what new kpop MVs I have to share with you this week.Continue reading
Hey there, music fans! This week I’m bringing you the freshest OST MVs I could find — some of them were *just* released a few days ago, and I am SO EXCITED to share them with you. Come see what I found!Continue reading
Last week’s MVs were all fairly heavy, so I am happy to balance that out with the fun summer songs in this week’s post! I think the summer bop season is one of my favorite season in kpop. Come see what I found to celebrate the season!Continue reading
Ok, so today’s post is technically just songs — B-sides don’t get their own MVs. I have to hunt high and low to find a YouTube version of the song, but I do it because I love it. (Ok, yes, the dance practices for some songs are ridiculously easy to find. Let me have my little exaggerations.)
**For educational purposes, back in the day, B-sides were the songs from the opposite side of the record that recording companies would send to the radio station to play on the air. A-sides were the hit songs, or potential hit songs, while B-sides were usually personally selected by the artist because they felt that it was as strong as the A-side song, and they really, REALLY hoped the DJ would like it enough to play it. **
Read on for what I consider to be some great B-side kpop songs!
Kpop music videos are always colorful and brilliantly executed and they definitely embrace an element of the weird more often than not. Today’s selection, however, pushed me beyond the initial “What did I just watch?” reaction, though. Before you start thinking that the shiny newness has not worn off this Maknae, let me tell you that there were several videos that did not make the cut for today’s post, including SHINee’s “Everybody” and “Ring Ding Dong.” In my wanderings down the kpop rabbit hole, I have found some videos that would make even David Bowie raise his eyebrows. Without further ado, I present to you Five Over-the-Top Kpop MVs!
Y’all know how much I struggle with watching historicals, but 100 Days My Prince is tempting me anyway! D.O. is a fantastic actor and this teaser cracks me up. How could I not be won over?
Here’s the plot summary from MDL if you need a refresher like I did: “Lee Yul falls off a cliff and nearly dies in an attempted assassination. He loses his memory and wanders for 100 days under a new name and personality. During this period, he meets Hong Sim, head of the first detective agency in Joseon.”
I’m in. Even looking at my hideously full drama plate, I will make it work SOMEHOW.
What about you, drama fans? Will you be watching? 100 Days My Prince starts on Monday, September 10th, on tvN.
Until then, I remain–
Karie the Maknae
Dramas with a Side of Kimchi
The reason I love music is for the emotions it can help me express. In my journey into all things Korean, I have found love songs that just stand out–they touch my heart, saying what I want to say more beautifully than I ever could. For Valentine’s Day, I’ve gathered some of the fangirls to share our favorite kpop love songs.
We are going to switch things up a bit and look at the other half of the Korean entertainment world…..namely KPOP. So join The Fangirls as we share our favorite MV’s from 2016. Continue reading

The concert was slated to be a disaster. Lay couldn’t make it from the beginning because of his China promotions, and now Kai wasn’t able to come thanks to a work visa error on the part of My Music Taste.
