Guess what?! D.O. (EXO) is back from the military and I couldn’t be more delighted because he JUST dropped his first solo album!! Come check out this fun new title track and some of the other songs that I took a fancy to this past week!Continue reading
One of the things that keeps me listening to all the kpop artists out there is the wide range of beautiful voices. Yes, some groups use autotune like another instrument — and I really don’t mind it — but I also love these artists who let their voices shine.Continue reading
The Box, starring Park Chan Yeol (EXO) and Jo Dal Hwan, is one of the loveliest stories I have seen in quite a while. I don’t often watch movies – my time in drama-land leaves me desirous of fictional characters with more depth than a two-hour film can typically provide. But as a Chanyeol fangirl, I knew I would have to watch – after all this movie was his last parting gift to his fans before leaving for the military. I’m ever so glad I did!!! Here are three reasons why you need to check it out too!Continue reading
We’ve had a lot of long-anticipated music released lately, music fans! Come see what gifts Enhypen, Kai of EXO, and BoA have given us. You can also tell me if you’ve ever heard of Vanner — check them out below!Continue reading

Last week’s MVs were all fairly heavy, so I am happy to balance that out with the fun summer songs in this week’s post! I think the summer bop season is one of my favorite season in kpop. Come see what I found to celebrate the season!Continue reading
Ok, so today’s post is technically just songs — B-sides don’t get their own MVs. I have to hunt high and low to find a YouTube version of the song, but I do it because I love it. (Ok, yes, the dance practices for some songs are ridiculously easy to find. Let me have my little exaggerations.)
**For educational purposes, back in the day, B-sides were the songs from the opposite side of the record that recording companies would send to the radio station to play on the air. A-sides were the hit songs, or potential hit songs, while B-sides were usually personally selected by the artist because they felt that it was as strong as the A-side song, and they really, REALLY hoped the DJ would like it enough to play it. **
Read on for what I consider to be some great B-side kpop songs!
Kpop music videos are always colorful and brilliantly executed and they definitely embrace an element of the weird more often than not. Today’s selection, however, pushed me beyond the initial “What did I just watch?” reaction, though. Before you start thinking that the shiny newness has not worn off this Maknae, let me tell you that there were several videos that did not make the cut for today’s post, including SHINee’s “Everybody” and “Ring Ding Dong.” In my wanderings down the kpop rabbit hole, I have found some videos that would make even David Bowie raise his eyebrows. Without further ado, I present to you Five Over-the-Top Kpop MVs!
Y’all know how much I struggle with watching historicals, but 100 Days My Prince is tempting me anyway! D.O. is a fantastic actor and this teaser cracks me up. How could I not be won over?
Here’s the plot summary from MDL if you need a refresher like I did: “Lee Yul falls off a cliff and nearly dies in an attempted assassination. He loses his memory and wanders for 100 days under a new name and personality. During this period, he meets Hong Sim, head of the first detective agency in Joseon.”
I’m in. Even looking at my hideously full drama plate, I will make it work SOMEHOW.
What about you, drama fans? Will you be watching? 100 Days My Prince starts on Monday, September 10th, on tvN.
Until then, I remain–
Karie the Maknae
