The world has slowed down for a bit as we all wait out this self-imposed quarantine time. The Fangirls, like most people right now, have a lot of time on our hands. We’ve done all the laundry, wiped down the house, and made sure we have all our supplies. So let’s look at what the Fangirls are watching; some of us are playing catch up, some of us already have a full watchlist, and some of us are revisiting our dropped lists.

Clkytta:

I’m all about Itaewon Class right now. I’m all caught up, so now I feel a little lost for a few days. I’m tempted to do a bit of a Park Seo Joon marathon. I’m also watching When the Weather is Fine, but we didn’t have any new episodes this week. Earlier this weekend, my daughter and I were marathon watching Reply 1988, I needed a feel-good drama and it hit the spot. So now I’m combing through my lists and seeing what I may need to go back to. I have The Game: Towards Zero on hold, so I may go back and watch it. I just realized how pathetic my list is. I need to go find a good fluffy Chinese drama to watch.

Kmuse:

It took me a bit to get back into Asian dramas but now I am back with a vengence. Have started Nobody Knows, Rugal, and The Memorist this week. Obviously I am in the mood for some serious killer filled Korean drama. The one, non killer show, I am watching is Hospital Playlist which I am adoring. It gives some serious heart felt feels. I also am breezing through Skate Into Love and Winter Begonia. On a non-Asian front I am working my way through Schitt’s Creek and some BBC murder mysteries. I also finished Tiger King which is epic in it’s ability to distract you from reality.

MiataMama:

So many new dramas! So many children in my house with me (mom of four here)! I have the attention span of a gnat at the moment and my sanity is quickly dwindling. So I’m just haphazardly watching things whenever I get the chance or need the distraction! Somehow, I’ve picked up five new currently airing shows – 365: Repeat the Year, Memorist, and Rugal, are my dark and intense dramas, while Meow, the Secret Boy and Skate Into Love are bringing some much-needed fluff to balance things out! As if this weren’t enough to keep me busy, I also just started a rewatch of Something About 1%! 화이팅!

Karie the Maknae:

Keeping up with dramas was not my first priority this last month, but I finally got to relax and binged Crash Landing On You (excellent drama — and totally bingeable. I avoided the trauma of a few cliffhangers that way).

I am now happily watching Hospital Playlist, Meow the Secret Boy, and substalking The Memorist. I’m liking the more relaxed drama schedule I’ve had lately, so we’ll see if I pick up any fluffy Chinese dramas or other kdramas I’ve put on hold.

There are some great OTPs out there right now (Park Min Young/Seo Kang Joon in I’ll Go to You When the Weather is Nice, Chae Soo Bin/Jung Hae In in A Piece of Your Mind, to name a few), but I’m not in a rush to get to them. Right now, I’m all about taking it easy.

Kdrama Jen:

Covid19 reality hit my family pretty hard over the past few weeks, so I have not been able to really escape into the world of dramas until just recently. Recently, though, I have been able to catch up with a few new shows and some comforting re-watches. I have been surprised by what is catching my interest and what I was looking forward to, but can’t seem to watch right now. I am leaning toward cute and fluffy dramas right now. So, even though I am still kind of dealing with the ick-factor of a potential cat-love, I am still enjoying Meow the Secret Boy. I am also watching I’ll Go to You When the Weather is Nice. I am a bit annoyed at the main couple, though. I am also watching The Memorist and a number of Chinese dramas. Kmuse and I will talk about all the Chinese dramas we have been watching in an upcoming podcast! I am also watching a Cambodian movie that is billed as a “Romeo and Juliet” story. It is about a forbidden love between a monk and a beautiful girl promised to another. It is heartbreaking, but I am enjoying the opportunity to explore Cambodian film. What I am disappointed by is that the drama I was really looking forward to, Hospital Playlist, is not one I can watch right now. The setting is just too close to home at the moment, so instead of enjoying the banter of the characters, I am just feeling anxious. So, I know I will go back and thoroughly enjoy it at another time, but at the moment it is not for me. I wonder if our readers are experiencing the same thing?
