The Fangirls Day 26 – 30 Day Asian Drama Challenge

FotorCreated26

We discussed who we wanted to date in real life.  Now why don’t we shift in a different direction and chat about who we would like to be in dramaland.  Come join us for Day 26!

DAY 26: Drama character you’d actually want to be.

CLKYTTA: Chae Young Shin from Healer. I was actually the news editor of my high school paper so it’s not a stretch to imagine me as a journalist. She’s smart and sassy and she’s had a rough past, but she doesn’t let that hold her back.  Her character has some deep seated values that she won’t compromise, and what she doesn’t have in experience, she has in determination.  She goes after what she wants, be it a story or her man and I love that about her character.  Also, if I were her I’d get to snuggle and kiss Healer/Jung Hoo.

Drama Geek: I have a list of female characters that I wouldn’t mind being. I mean, they are all strong, intelligent and totally kick butt (not always literally). But when you look at other factors like the bad guys that are after them: Hye-Sung from I Hear Your Voice, Chae Young Shin from Healer, and Cheon Song Yi from You From Another Star. Or all the troubles they have to go through:  Jo Gang Ja in Angry Mom (though having Puppy Bok Dong trailing after me might make it worth it). Or that they’re stuck in the past: Yoon Seo from Three Musketeers and Yoo Eun Soo from Faith. I pretty much talk myself out of being any of them.

So… Can I just be Lee Soo Kyung in Let’s Eat? Then I get to eat everything all the time and have Doojoon tell me how super yummy it is. And I super cute dog. 🙂

Kdrama Jen: I can’t decide which character I would want to be, but I think I would like to switch places with actresses Park Shin Hye, Park Min Young, and Shin Min Ah.  Combined, they have been the object of affection (whether they ended up with them or not) for some of my favorite Khotties: Lee Jong Suk, Lee Min Ho, Ji Chang Wook, Kim Woo Bin, Yoo Seung Ho, Song Joong Ki, Lee Jung Ki, and the list goes on and on…  I also have full confidence that if they have not yet crossed path with some of my favorites, then they soon will.  Therefore, I volunteer as tribute.  I will take turns switching places with each one.  I am sure they are very busy, so they would probably welcome the opportunity to come hang out in suburban America while I soldier on in their place for a while.  It will be a sacrifice, but I think it is the least I can do to help them take a break so they can come back refreshed and ready to entertain us some more.

  1. Yeah, Chae Young Chin FOR Healer LOL LOL LOL 😀 Mind, I was a Navy newspaper EDITOR & Journalist – got an award for the 1977 SeaBee Courier. So definitely not a stretch. Just rejuvenate me….
Right now, well, AHJUMMA HACKER (if I ain’t getting rejuvenated….) But I’d have to learn some skills…

  2. Wow! That thing has never crossed my mind yet. Let’s see..
I want to be switched with Deok Sun from Reply 1988 and be friends with lovable and kind guys. Jung Hwan will be my protector, Taek will be the best one to cuddle with, Jung Bong will be the cutest big bro that can help me with household and food problems , Sun Woo will be my understanding and supportive brother-in-law and Dong Ryong will be the funny one that I can be with in every crazy adventure..

  3. This is a hard one. Maybe Lee Seol from My Princess? I definitely think the educational system in Korea would have killed me so I’d need the love of Professor Nam (played by Ryu Soo Young) to survive. Outside of Korean dramas, I’ll pick Sophie from Sophie’s Revenge. It’s a Chinese drama and she gets to hang out with both So Ji Sub (boo! hiss!) and Peter Ho (yea!!!)
