14 Days of Fangirling: Day 6

a1a2s3It is amazing how much Kpop has expanded since the days we started our Korean addiction.  Which is why we thought it would be a great time to do some throwback kpop MVs.  Did yours make the cut?  Be sure to let us know in the comments!

Day 6 – Favorite throwback Kpop MV (2012 or earlier)

Kdrama Jen:  I Want Nobody Nobody But You

CLKYTTA: Sorry, Sorry- Super Junior

CLSunbae: Mirotic by TVXQ

Man, those haircuts are awful. But the song is catchy and the video is almost sexy. (I mean, it’d be full sexy but … those haircuts…) I enjoy watching the video and I still jam out to the song when I’m cleaning the house. Related note: after making a friend watch it with me, she asked if Korean men are naturally hairless. I’m still not sure. I was afraid to Google it.

KMUSE: T-ara & Shinee…. A Sampling

I had every intention of just picking one MV and going forward to answering the question for Day 7.  Then I sign in and find that Mirotic has already been picked.  Which means I had to go into my Kpop vault and choose another MV.  An hour later I come out of my Kpop youtube rabbit hole and I just couldn’t choose just one.  So instead, you get my top 4 from two groups that dominated my playlist back in the day.

T-ara Lovey Dovey & Roly Poly

Back before they had massive scandals and diva infighting T-ara put out some of my all time favorite female idol MVs. The second I hear them I just start tapping my feet and wishing I could be at a club dancing to their songs.

SHINee – Ring Ding Dong & Sherlock

You can’t have watched Kpop in 2009 to 2012 without being overwhelmed with massive amounts of SHINee.  I remember Sherlock being one of those songs that stuck in my head for days on end.  I possibly even dreamed the chorus as I slept.  And if we are talking about great earworms than you can’t beat Ring Ding Dong.

Drama Geek – Breath & Demon

It was so much fun to revisit these classic kpop MVs.  Be sure to let us know your favorites in the comments and check back tomorrow as we discuss which drama sets we would love to visit and why.  Also, check out our past 14 Days of Fangirling posts HERE!

Til next time,

  1. So many great songs! Mirotic is still on my play list and so is Sherlock. I loved the acoustic version of Juliette too. But before I found those I loved Big Bangs Let Me Hear Your Voice from the jdrama Ohitorisama. When I watch it now I have to laugh at how young they were but I really did fall hard for that song. I still listen to it and my kids know all the words LOL

  2. Ah, throwback videos, what fun. Sometimes I end up trawling oldtime stuff for hours, ha. Well, I’m going a bit further back in time. Shinhwa was the first Korean group I came across when I first got into k-ent and they are still The One, ha. Still going strong too.

Eusha, Eusha never ceases to make me smile. Puppies! 🙂
