Top 5 Kpop MVs: Rooting for the Underdog

Blackpink and Ravi and NCT may have had releases this week, but I wanted to focus on the other artists who had to work harder to catch my eyes and ears. Come check out the up and coming bands whose intriguing vocals and mesmerizing MVs have captured my attention!

Crush – “Rush Hour” featuring j-hope

LOVING this jazzy hiphop song with its big brass sound, and Crush and j-hope duet together very, very well. Love seeing j-hope getting out there and collabing with some very interesting artists!

Peppertones – “Eye of the Typhoon”

This song never went where I expected it too, and I love it SO MUCH. The rain sound becomes a layer of distortion that blends well with the rhythmic guitar, and the lightning-fast vocals are as entrancing as the MV’s visuals. I’m going to be keeping an eye out for the Peppertones from now on.

Rocking doll – “Survive”

There’s something about Rocking doll that calls to mind early Mamamoo, and I am HERE for it. They’re young, they’re committed to their vibe, and they truly are rocking.

Lacuna – “I Love You”

Another kpop band on the horizon! I’m slowing things down a little with Lacuna, who seem to be channeling an early Coldplay vibe. They may not have Chris Martin’s unique vocals, but Lacuna has a sound that is all their own, and it’s making my ears happy.

Vincent – “We Are Young”

Yay for more bands! What can I say? I have a type! The rich vocals and interesting visual textures make Vincent’s “We Are Young” a captivating watch. They’ll be going into my heavy rotation, and I’m not sad about it.

What artists have caught your ears lately, music fans? Drop down in the comments and let me know – I promise I’ll give them a listen!

Until the next comeback, I remain –
