As many of our regular readers might have already figured out, I’m an unapologetic fan of male voices and choreography when it comes to my Kpop faves! However, every once in a while a girl group or solo artist will catch my attention and jump onto my regular playlists. These last six weeks have been stellar for the girls of Kpop and I’ve found not one, but SIX new tracks that I can’t wait to share — let’s roll, ladies!
Mamamoo+ – ‘GGBB’
I just adore this unit pair from Mamamoo — the combo of Moonbyul’s low-tone raps and Solar’s smooth vocals is perfect! ‘GGBB’, with its mix of doo-wop and jazzy vocals, is a sound that is right up my alley!
Lee Chae Yeon – ‘Knock’
Former IZ*ONE member Lee Chae Yeon is back with her second solo album, and her title track ‘Knock’ is most definitely a BOP! The strong pop beat pulled me in immediately — plus I love that the MV styling and choreo push beyond traditional girl-group expectations!!
IVE – ‘I Am’
IVE has been consistently dropping well-received tracks since their debut in December 2021. And their newest song, ‘I Am’ is keeping up the trend! The beautiful, soaring vocal harmony during the chorus is my favorite part — if only I had the range to sing along!
MiJoo – ‘Movie Star’
I’m enjoying this first solo single from Lovelyz member, MiJoo! The whimsical start gives way to a song that calls to you to get up and dance along — meanwhile the daydream style of the MV pairs well with the flow of the music! Delightful solo debut!!
Le Sserafim – ‘Unforgiven’
In every batch of songs there is a designated earworm and this, THIS is the song! I recently watched Le Sserafim perform this new track live during the recent KCON Japan broadcast. I can confirm they are a SOLID group of singers and dancers, and the chorus of ‘Unforgiven’ will continue to stalk you dayssss later!
BOL4 – ‘Friend, The End’
This was such a cute, sweet MV! I loved the gentle ebb and flow of Ahn Ji-young’s unique voice throughout the song. A beautiful pop-ballad — perfect to just sit back and chill with!
The girls are really showing up and showing off with their best songs this spring! Drop down below and share some of your favorite tracks, led by the ladies of K-pop!
