I have GOOSE BUMPS!!!! Do Kyung Soo (EXO’s D.O.) has been masterly cast as the lead in Swing Kids. Let’s look at the first trailer.Do Kyung Soo burst onto the screen in It’s Okay, That’s Love and we knew he would never be an idol actor from the beginning. He’s currently captivating the hearts of the Korean audience with record breaking numbers on tvN in 100 Days My Prince.
Reading the synopsis it is not a direct adaptation of the 1993 American movie by the same name, but instead from the Korean musical Rho Ki Soo. The premise is pretty similar so it’s possible the musical was inspired by the movie. Either way, it’s about a North Korean soldier held at a POW camp who falls in love with tap dancing.
I actually didn’t recognize the shy girl from Hello, My Twenties until I looked up the cast. Park Hye Soo was a contestant on Season 4 of K-pop Star so she has a background in music, and she seems to be doing a pretty good job, at least in the trailer. To round out the cast they have Jared Grimes who is a tap dancer from the Broadway Dance Center.
Swing Kids comes to theaters in December of 2018. Let’s swing together!

Looks awesome and really hope it makes it to my local theater this December as I will definitely go to watch it.
I am SO super excited about this- I’m pretty sure it’s going to be amazing!!! Hopefully I get a chance to see it before I leave Korea.
