Top 5 Kpop MVs: Throwing on a Little KRock

If you’ve been reading these posts for any length of time, you might know that I’m a rocker girl in the deepest parts of my soul. Groups like Day6, Hoppipolla, Purple Rain, last week’s Rolling Quartz, Bandage, 2Z, and Nell have regular turns on my playlists. Thanks to a great krock Twitter thread, I have more to explore! Come see if the groups I found are the krock artists you’ve been waiting for.

AboutU – “YesterLove”

This simple ballad just warms my soul. I love AboutU’s stripped down sound and sweet harmonies!

Jaurim – “있지”

HER VOICE. I am so here for unique voices, and Kim Yoon A’s is gorgeously unique, captivating from the very first note. Give “있지” a spin and see what you think!

D.COY – “Color Magic”

D.COY is a brand new krock group, and they have the sort of sound that’s easy to fall in love with. Smooth with beautiful harmonies and strong shared vocals, “Color Magic” is a song I’ll be listening to for a while.

Tilde – “Like a Candle on a Cold Night”

I’m loving Tilde’s lyric vocals over their polished instrumentals, with a fantastic push at the end that keeps them from sounding too much like another krock group that I love but won’t name.

AfterMoon – “I Want It All”

AfterMoon competed in jTBC’s SuperBand in 2019 with Hoppipolla and Purple Rain, but it’s this single that stands out for me. Kevin’s voice really is magical, like his fans say, and I love listening to it.

Which of these great artists will be making their way onto your playlists, music fans? Who did I miss? Drop down in the comments and let me know!

Until the next beat of the drum, I remain —
