I can’t even BEGIN to count the number of famous faces headed to our screens this week, drama fans! From dramas about motherhood to life in a small village, one of these dramas is bound to make a splash on your watch list very soon.
Green Mothers’ Club
April 6, Netflix, starring Lee Yo Won (Avengers Social Club), Choo Ja Hyun (My Unfamiliar Family), Kim Gyu Ri (Designated Survivor)
The ‘Green Mothers Club’ captures the friendship, motherhood, and growth of five mothers who met in the elementary community, each with a complex that they could not overcome. It is a story that recounts the definition of a friend who meet naturally, communicate, and share life, rather than organizational interests such as school or work. Each person lives differently, but is reminded of the ‘beast realm’ (instinct) called motherhood, and ponders the existence of a mother and a human being.
Again My Life
April 8, Viki, starring Lee Joon Gi (Flower of Evil), Lee Kyung Young (The Veil), Kim Ji Eun (The Veil)
Kim Hee Woo had the lowest ranking grades in high school. Through perseverance and hard work, he was able to attend university and pass his bar exam. Today, he is an enthusiastic prosecutor. While investigating a potentially corrupt politician, Kim Woo is killed by an unidentified man, only to wake up fully alive.
My Liberation Notes
April 9, Netflix, starring Lee Min Ki (Oh My Ladylord!), Kim Ji Won (Lovestruck in the City), and Lee El (Dr. Brain)
A story of three siblings and a mysterious stranger who long to be “liberated” from their frustrating lives.
Set in Sanpo Village, a place where more people leave than move in, the three Yeom siblings, Chang Hee, Mi Jung, and Ki Jung all want to escape from a life that is clogged up with ‘no answer’.
One day, a mysterious man named Mr. Goo suddenly moves into their neighborhood. He is a drunkard and looks like he has many burdens and secrets. His cautious personality and preference to keep to himself, make him the talk of the town, leading even the timid Mi Jung, the youngest of the three siblings, to approach him.
Our Blues
April 9, Netflix, starring Lee Byung Hun (Mr. Sunshine), Shin Min Ah (Hometown Cha Cha Cha), Cha Seung Won (One Ordinary Day), Lee Jung Eun (Parasite) plus LOTS of other faces you’ll recognize. Seriously star-studded cast.
“Our Blues” takes on an omnibus-style drama, which tells the story of diverse characters that are somewhat interconnected, in one way or the other.
Lee Dong Suk, a guy born on the beautiful island of Jeju, sells trucks for a living. He meets Min Sun Ah, a girl with a mysterious past, who has come to Jeju to escape that life.
Park Jung Joon, a ship captain, falls in love with Lee Young Ok, a diver with a bright and bubbly personality.
Jung Eun Hee, a fish shop owner, reunites with her past lover Choi Han Soo. They cross paths in Jeju Island when he returns back, after realizing that city life is not for him.
