This week’s music videos are all about finding yourself, being yourself, owning who you are, and taking your turn. Except for one, but the leads were too pretty and I couldn’t leave it out. Come see for yourself!
Bobby – “U Mad”
Much like JHope, I’m convinced that Bobby brings the chaotic sunshine energy to iKON. That’s why I love this MV – it’s very much a “king of the hill” domination rap, but I can tell that Bobby had a ton of fun filming it. My favorite part is watching him dive off the building like he does it ALL. THE. TIME.
IU – “Celebrity”
I swear, IU’s stylist must have so much fun with her! IU’s a chameleon and wears everything well — her wardrobe was practically a character itself in Hotel Del Luna. I appreciate her changes in this MV, as it reflects the lyrics of finding and loving yourself.
Dreamcatcher – “Odd Eye”
I love Dreamcatcher’s dramatic, CGI-filled MVs. They’re just so satisfying! Nearly as satisfying as Dreamcatcher’s entire new album Dystopia. We won’t talk about how many times I’ve listened to it since it dropped….
CRAVITY – “My Turn”
Cravity is coming into their own sound! This slow and steady R&B number is simple and focused — I’m really enjoying it.
Kyuhyun – “Moving On”
Kyuhyun is a ballad master — there’s no question of that! He has such a beautiful voice. For this MV, though, I am here for Chae Soo Bin and Gong Myung. I would ABSOLUTELY watch a drama with the two of them as the leads! Can we make that happen, please?
BONUS TRACK: Blackpink – “How You Like That” Medieval Cover by Bardcore
There’s nothing I love more than clever covers, and this one had me laughing hysterically. It might have something to do with my stint in renaissance reenactments, or my brief obsession with Elizabeth the First’s reign. Either way, Kpop meets Renaissance was a DELIGHT.
What’s finding its way onto your playlist, music fans? Drop down in the comments and let me know!
Until the next album drops, I remain —
